The short version. Use DatumFeed to sync your own supplier data to your own store. We built it to be careful — every sync is previewed and reversible — but you're responsible for reviewing what you approve. Cancel any time. We won't lock your data up.
These terms cover the DatumFeed website at datumfeed.app and the DatumFeed Shopify app. DatumFeed is operated by Sean Miller, a sole trader in Australia. Questions: info@datumfeed.app.
1. Using DatumFeed
You may use DatumFeed to process supplier data for stores you own or are authorised to manage. You need a Shopify store and the right to install apps on it. Don't use DatumFeed to process data you don't have permission to use, and don't attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
2. Your data stays yours
You keep all rights to your supplier files, your product data, and your catalogue. We claim no ownership over any of it. We store it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Uninstall the app and it's deleted.
3. What we're responsible for — and what you are
DatumFeed is built to a specific principle: it doesn't guess. Rows it can't verify are held rather than synced, every sync is previewed before it runs, and every sync can be undone. We take that seriously and we test it against real supplier data.
But you are the one who presses Sync. DatumFeed shows you what will change; approving those changes is your decision, and you're responsible for reviewing them — particularly prices. We strongly recommend using the preview and the "needs a look" queue rather than approving in bulk without reading.
We also depend on Shopify's API. If Shopify is down, rate-limits us, or changes behaviour, syncs may be delayed or fail. We'll handle it as gracefully as we can, but we can't control it.
4. No warranty, and limits on liability
DatumFeed is provided "as is". While we work hard to make it accurate and reversible, we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to DatumFeed is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim (which, during free early access, is nothing). We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost sales.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot legally be excluded. If a consumer guarantee applies and cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of re-supply.
5. Early access
During early access, DatumFeed is free. Early-access merchants are helping shape the product; features may change, and occasional rough edges are expected. We'll tell you before that changes — you'll never be charged without agreeing first.
6. Paid plans (when they start)
Paid plans will be billed through Shopify's billing system, charged to your Shopify invoice. Prices will be shown before you subscribe. You can cancel any time from within Shopify; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and uninstalling the app cancels billing.
7. Ending things
You can stop using DatumFeed at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or end access if the service is being misused in a way that harms other merchants, our providers, or us — we'll tell you why if we do.
8. Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we'll update the date above and notify active merchants by email. Continuing to use DatumFeed after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
